CIS 1000 (Minimum Grade of C, May not be taken concurrently)


An introduction to the information technology used by the health care industry. Provides a broad overview of the hardware and software components that make up both clinical and administrative information systems. A variety of organizations involved in contemporary health care delivery will be studied, including providers and insurers. Although this is not a software course, there will be some limited hands-on computer work. The internet will be utilized for research and other online coursework.
