ENL 2850 African-American Literature	Credit Hours	Recitation/Lecture Hours	Studio Hours	Clinical Hours	Lab Hours
Prerequisites: ENL 1310 (Minimum Grade of D, May not be taken concurrently) Critically examines the work of African-American authors, and analyzes these works within a context of issues essential to the African-American experience, including: the construction of "blackness," notions of black masculinity and femininity, and representations of the black body. Students are exposed to a wide variety of texts that comprise the African-American literary tradition, including those by authors such as Toni Morrison, Zora Neale Hurston, Richard Wright, and Amiri Baraka.	3	0	0
