DHY 8240 Ethical & Legal Issues II

The purpose of this course is to continue the student¿s exposure to the ethical and legal principles guiding the decision making and the practice of dental hygiene. Mechanism to assess personal and professional self assessment will be utilized along with discussion of suggested measures and/or support systems to improve recognized deficiencies. Students will prepare and present analyses of an ethical dilemma they have personally observed in their clinical experience. Working in groups, students, will be required to chose by random selection an ethical dilemma, resolve that dilemma utilizing the ethical decision making model and present that resolution to class in a video or DVD format.
