NUR 2800 Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapeutics

3 semester hours @ 50 minutes per semester hour=35 hours for the 14 week semester. This course focuses on preparing the undergraduate nursing student with a foundation of the basic principles and concepts of pharmacology and pharmacotherapeutics. Major drug category prototypes will be presented as they relate to the management and treatment of disease states. The course will assist the student in outlining: drug classes, therapeutic uses, general and adverse side effects, as well as drug interactions. Implications associated with the administration, monitoring, and nursing interventions are incorporated. The goal of this course is to highlight the essential information, promote true comprehension, and integrate pharmacology and pharmacotherapeutics with concurrent clinical coursework. | 3 | 0 | 0 | | |
