This course is designed to acquaint the dental hygiene student with the surgical procedures utilized to manage periodontal diseases. Indications, contraindications and descriptions of various surgical procedures will be discussed. The role of the dental hygienist in the successful treatment of periodontal diseases will be stressed, which includes providing valuable information to patients regarding the surgical aspect of periodontal therapy.	1	0	0
