Each credit (7) equals 3 clock hours each week of clinical practice for 14 weeks. Clinical Practicum on illness management to high volume, high cost, high morbidity/mortality health alterations in individuals and families across the lifespan. Students provide nursing care to physically and mentally ill pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in both acute care and community settings. In addition to addressing the care of individuals and families, they will work on collaboration, delegation, and prioritization skills. Therapeutic communication includes crisis intervention, psychiatric interviewing, and counseling.
