Provides students didactic knowledge and concepts involved in recognizing non-dental sources of head and jaw pain through the patient history, detecting muscle and TMJ conditions by examination and understanding the TMJ disk derangement with current imaging technology. A variety of alternative treatment approaches, their risks and benefits will be explored. Emphasis will be placed on an conceptually sound, diagnostically based, interdisciplinary-oriented, patient-centered approach.
