Description

Master of Science Degree
The Master of Science Degree in Business Turnaround Management is an offering of the College of Business Administration. This comprehensive program is founded on the concept that any organization can benefit from improvement, especially, but not only, those in trouble.

UDM was among the first to see the importance of comprehensively studying business from the perspective of turn-arounds and improvement. These conditions create an environment where leadership, speed, work ethic and creativity are paramount.

The BTM programs are specifically designed to give students a comprehensive grounding in every meaningful aspect of the current body of knowledge and skills in business turnaround. This was accomplished with ongoing collaboration with business turnaround professionals and executives from Michigan and provides a practical, pragmatic approach to this field.

Degree Requirements

The Masters of Science in Business Turnaround Management requires 30 credit hours of coursework. Students are required to take BTM 500: Business Turnaround Management and BTM 550: Ethical and Critical Thinking. In addition, students are required to complete a Capstone Project (Either BTM 596: Practicum, or BTM 599: Master’s Thesis). The remaining credits can be taken from the available BTM courses.

All students are required to show competence in Accounting and Financial Management by taking ACC 510 and MBA 518, or an equivalent, or show prior academic preparation through their academic transcripts. Credit will be given for courses taken to fulfill these requirements but this credit will not count towards the degree requirements.
