Biography

Professor DiPaolo teaches the highly-interactive Exploring Leadership course and serves as the director of the widely-popular undergraduate Leadership Minor program—now numbering over 500 students.
"Dr. Don" regularly presents on campus and across the country, facilitating leadership retreats for students, faculty and community organizations. His publications and professional presentations have been in the area of leadership development and personal transformation.
DiPaolo earned his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and joined the faculty there in 1997. He came to Detroit Mercy and served as chair of the Education Department before launching the Leadership Minor.
He is a leading voice for effective undergraduate leadership education and student-athlete development and has been recognized internationally for his contributions to campus life.
