Biography

Associate Professor of Education, Director of the Special Education Program, and Chair of the Education Department, Grigg teaches general education and special education curriculum and method courses; supervises research and field experience. He has extensive experience in teaching special education students for more than 32 years in public education. He has been with the University since 2004 first as an adjunct, then and Instructor and since 2012 as a tenured track Assistant Professor. He received a B.A., M.A. from Eastern Michigan University in Special Education and earned a M.S. in Counseling Psychology with licensure in 2005 from Capella University.  He earned his Ed. D in 2016 in Higher Education Leadership from Walden University. During the Summer of 2016 he participated in a Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad Program as the curriculum coordinator studying the African Contributions and Contemporary Issues in Northeast Brazil: A Curriculum Development Project Integrating Social Sciences and the Arts. His research interests include teacher education, international education and experience, and culturally responsive pedagogy.
