Biography

Christine Pacini serves as a professor of Nursing in the McAuley School of Nursing, where she teaches fundamentals and foundations of nursing practice and leadership and management courses. She also serves as the dean consultant to the provost and works on projects and assignments in support of academic affairs.

Pacini served as the dean of the College of Health Professions and the McAuley School of Nursing from 2010-2017. Prior to that, she served as director of Professional Development, Research and Innovation for Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia, and has worked in a similar capacity at the University of Michigan Health System, Indiana University Health System and Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Pacini's began her academic career at Mercy College of Detroit, where she progressed from serving as an instructor to achieving tenure and the rank of associate professor. Upon completion of her doctoral degree, she returned to University of Detroit Mercy, where she progressed and assumed administrative responsibility as the assistant dean and associate dean of the McAuley School of Nursing.

Prior to becoming a nurse, Pacini was a certified secondary teacher of history and political science. She has consulted, presented and published in the areas of educational redesign, professional development, clinical advancement, leadership development, clinical transformation, accreditation, shared governance and physiological impacts of hospitalization on women and the elderly. She holds leadership positions with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and the National American Arab Nurses Association, as well as serving on several professional and hospital boards.
