Great Lakes Fabricators and Erectors Association Funded Lecture Series
Gino Rossetti '59, FAIA, chairman and founder of Rossetti Associates, was the speaker at the School of Architecture Great Lakes Fabricators and Erectors Association Lecture Series in early October. Rossetti is an alumnus of the School, Class of '59, whose talk was entitled "40 Years of Fun". An exhibition of his work highlighted some of the major accomplishments of his illustrious career. See pictures from the Rossetti lecture.
The annual funded lecture series — which began Oct. 7 — resumes Jan. 13 with the Gensler + Master of Community Development Program Lecture. A panel of speakers (Dan Pitera, director, Detroit Collaborative Design Center; Terri Swartz, urban planner, Cleveland Urban Design Center; and Craig Wilkins, director, Detroit Community Design Center) will discuss Cleveland + Detroit "Design Centers as Operative Change."
This year's series, "National Exchange + Regional CO-Labor," focuses on regional economies, national networks and multi-disciplinary approaches to design as an operative word and is offered in collaboration with Cranbrook Academy of Art and Lawrence Technological University. The series is sponsored by University of Detroit Mercy School of Architecture and Great Lakes Fabricators and Erectors Association. Additional sponsors include Dichotomy, HOK Toronto, Gensler Associates, Rossetti Associates, UDM Master of Community Development Program and SSOE, Inc.
