Kresge Foundation grant will support Design Center
At the end of December 2008, the Kresge Foundation approved a Detroit Program grant of $250,000 over a period of three years to provide operating support for the Detroit Collaborative Design Center. The Foundation's Detroit Program is a comprehensive, community-development effort to strengthen the long-term, social and cultural fabric of the city and surrounding area.
New courses being developed for Health Care concentration
A recent gift from Albert Kahn Associates will allow further development of courses for the Health Care curriculum. Professor of Architecture Steven La Grassa is developing a syllabus for a new course on "Architectural Programming" for the Health Care concentration.

Dan Pitera will be a speaker at the 2009 Mayors' Institute on City Design, July 22-24 in Denver, Colorado.
Dean Stephen Vogel was selected to be on an international competition jury for a major project in Saudia Arabia for King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud. The jury's decision was made in Washington, D.C. The six finalists in the competition are all internationally recognized architects.
