Message from Alumni Council President
As another academic year races to a closing, the School of Architecture Alumni Council is happy to report on another successful year. The council, with a number of more recent graduates adding their voices, has been diligently working to pull together our annual events in addition to adding new ones.
We continue to offer Career Day for high school students, host the student breakfast each term, serve in an advisory role for the curriculum committee and plan impromptu social gatherings for local alumni. Our Annual Alumni Event was hosted April 26, 2007 at the school, where we had a relaxing evening of entertainment and refreshments. The council is also proud to co-sponsor the Continuing Education Event planned for this May. Please check out our web site for further information on activities and photographs of the events.
On behalf of the council and the students, I would like to thank all alumni and family who have supported the SOA Alumni Council Scholarship, which has reached its first milestone to begin awarding to students. Our scholarship will now be added to the other generous offerings to current and future students with its first award in 2007-2008. Please continue your support of this scholarship so it can continue to grow and benefit students for years to come.
If you would like to become involved with the council or assist with one of the events, we are always in need of dedicated alumni. Lastly, I would like to thank the great group of council members I have had the pleasure to work with this year. You make me proud to be an alumnus.
Sincerely,
Wayne E. Chubb '00
