CHP co-sponsors Celebrate Spirit!
In September, the College of Health Professions co-sponsored the 2012 Celebrate Spirit! event, which officially opened the academic school year for UDM faculty, staff and students. Celebrate Spirit! welcomes people of all faith traditions at Mass to ask God's blessing on the new school year.

Administrative Assistant Yvonne King with other CHP representatives leads Celebrate Spirit! participants in “Healing Hands” ceremony, during the 2012 Celebrate Spirit! service, held Sept. 20.
The event’s theme was “Creating a Healing Community,” which was emphasized by the guest speaker, Sister Karen Schneider, RSM, M.D., a Pediatric Emergency physician at The Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore, MD, who spoke on "Mercy Makes a Difference." You can watch Sr. Schneider's Celebrate Spirit! talk, which is introduced at 13:10 in the Celebrate Spirit! video.

At the conclusion of Mass, CHP faculty and staff led the participants in the Healing Hands prayer. The University community also collected toiletries and other items to donate to three community agencies that are assisting the underserved in Detroit.
