Professor Carla Groh of the McAuley School of Nursing along with Clinical Assistant Professor Rose Higgins, Assistant Professor Debra Knight and Associate Professor Sharon Moser of the Physician Assistant Program co-authored the article, "A pilot study assessing PA students self-assessment of professionalism," published in the Journal of Physician Assistant Education. Knight and Moser also wrote the article, "Early recognition of the presentation of herpes encephalitis," published in ADVANCE for Physician Assistants.

Mary O'Shaughnessey, assistant professor of Health Services Administration, was honored with the 2009 Regent's Award for Distinguished Faculty by the American College of Healthcare Executives, June 25.

Nutrena Tate, assistant professor of Nursing, received the Nurse Educator of the Year Award from the National Black Nurses Association. This award recognizes outstanding contributions to professional and/or patient education. She was honored at the Scholarship, Chapter and Nurse of the Year Award Ceremony, Aug. 4 in Toronto.
