College sponsors Theatre Afterglow

The CHP Alumni Board sponsored its first Theatre Afterglow on March 31 following the production of the UDM Theatre Company's play, "Urinetown." Approximately 150 people gathered to discuss the play with cast members and renew friendships in the Art Gallery at Marygrove College. Integrity Home Health Care provided the event's refreshments. The CHP Alumni Board looks forward to sponsoring another Afterglow during the Theatre Company's 2007-2008 season.

New development officer to build support

Nancy MaierNancy Maier was recently named senior advancement officer with development responsibilities for both the College of Health Professions and the School of Dentistry. Since joining UDM in September 2003, Maier's efforts have entailed laying the groundwork and leading the quiet phase of the School of Dentistry fund-raising campaign. With her additional responsibilities, Maier will begin the identification and cultivation of current and new prospects to increase CHP's annual fund in support of the McAuley School of Nursing, a new simulation lab, and other programmatic initiatives.

"I am fortunate to work with both health-related schools in maximizing our fund-raising efforts by collaboratively approaching potential lead donors," says Maier of her new role.

Previous to her tenure at UDM, Maier served as director of Development for the Alzheimer's Association of Michigan and manager of Member Services with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
