College advisory board convenes
The Engineering & Science Board of Advisors met Friday, Oct. 17 for presentations on the University and College from UDM President Gerard L. Stockhausen and Dean Leo Hanifin, respectively. The Board reviewed and provided input on the College's strategic plan. The Board also discussed its role in helping the College achieve its strategic goals and create leading-edge programs, following a presentation on UDM's Entrepreneurship Program by Mechanical Engineering Professor Jonathan Weaver.

"The Advisory Board's first meeting was highly energized by the collective engagement of top leaders from across the country and around the world, representing a wide variety of professions," says E&S Dean Leo Hanifin. "During the meeting they provided thoughtful, well-informed guidance regarding the directions and plans for the College, and at the end, made the statement: 'We're fired up and want to work. Tell us what you need done.' That's a dean's dream to hear.
"The next step is for the College's leadership to deliberate on the best ways to focus this energy and dedication," he adds. "Once we do that, we look forward to accomplishing 'great things' with these leaders."
