Generosity knows no geographic boundaries
Not only does support for the College come from alumni and friends right here in the metro Detroit area, the College also receives gifts from alumni throughout the world. Recently, the College received a very generous gift of technology from Amit Suresh '99 from Jakarta, Indonesia, as well as gifts from alumni in countries such as Italy, South Korea, Brazil, Japan and Canada. Generosity and gratitude know no geographic boundaries and online giving allows for philanthropic connections across the miles.
Gifts from alumni and friends help to create a first-class experience for our current students. Whether its scholarship support, annual support, or gifts like Suresh's for technology, an investment in the College is an investment in the future business leaders of our state and country. All gifts, regardless of their size, help to ensure the continuing quality of a UDM education, and annual participation in giving to the College helps to increase our national rankings.
Please consider making a gift to the College this year. Stock gifts are excellent vehicles because they eliminate capital gains tax liability and provide income tax advantages. If your company matches your gifts, your generosity can be doubled or more. And for those alumni who are 70.5 years of age, there are also special tax advantages this year for gifts made from IRAs. For more information on how to make a gift to the College, please contact Greg Cascione, director of Development, at 313-993-1232 or gregory.cascione@udmercy.edu. Gifts can also be made online at www.udmercy.edu/giving.
