Barbara Milbauer appointed vice president, University Advancement

Over the past year, Barbara Milbauer ’66 served as interim vice president for University Advancement and demonstrated her more than 35 years of experience in higher education administration, advancement programming and comprehensive campaigns by providing effective organization and management to the University Advancement office. Milbauer previously held this position at UDM from 1993 to 2001, the year she retired. She returned to the University in 2010 as a development officer for the College of Engineering & Science. Milbauer earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Mercy College of Detroit and a M.B.A. from Michigan State University.

Renee McCune named associate dean, McAuley School of Nursing

Renee McCune has served on the faculty of the McAuley School of Nursing (MSON) since August 2008. Prior to that, she served as an adjunct faculty member at UDM and has many years of administrative experience within the Detroit Medical Center. During her tenure in the MSON, she served as the program chair for the accelerated second-degree BSN program and has taught courses related to community health, research/scientific inquiry, health promotion/risk reduction, and professional role development. McCune received her Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Michigan.

New interim appointments:

Deborah Stieffel joined UDM this summer as interim vice president for Enrollment Management & Student Affairs. For the past six years, Stieffel served as the vice president for Enrollment Management at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania.

Troy L. Harris was named interim dean for the School of Law. Harris has served as a faculty member in the School since 2010.
