Important Information for incoming students to the University of Detroit Mercy
The University of Detroit Mercy Health Center requires that a Tuberculosis (TB) skin test report be on file for all new international students and new incoming freshmen students. The test must have been performed in the United States or Canada within the last 12 months (1 year). Please be sure you have turned in your TB skin test post-card that came in your Admission packet.
ALL students who will be living in the Residence Halls (dorms) must have documentation of health insurance. If you fail to complete the online waiver form, proving you have adequate coverage under your parents insurance or your own insurance, you will automatically be charged for and enrolled into the insurance plan UDM offers. Commuter students are welcome to enroll in the Student Insurance Plan, but do not need to waive. Please click here for more information about the insurance or to waive/enroll in the plan offered by the university.
We strongly encourage all students to make sure they are up to date with their vaccinations. While UDM does not require proof of vaccination prior to admission, we highly recommend all students to stay current with their immunizations and keep an immunization record with them.
All incoming students are encouraged to check to be sure their immunizations are up-to-date, including:
- MMR- Measles, Mumps, Rubella
- Hepatitis B series
- Td- Tetanus, Diphtheria
