University holds its annual Commencement: Honorary degree to
innovative architect/educator

University of Detroit Mercy will hold its annual commencement
ceremony for undergraduate and graduate students on Saturday, May
10, 1:30 p.m. at Calihan Hall on the McNichols Campus. More than
750 graduates and their families are expected to attend the event,
as well as "Class of 1958" alumni, who will be honored at the
ceremony. Valedictorian Beth Ann Dalrymple, a mechanical
engineering major, will address the audience.

UDM School of Dentistry to host Community Open House

The University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and Clinic will
host a Community Open House on Saturday, May 31 from 9 a.m. to 1
p.m. on UDM's Corktown Campus, 2700 Martin Luther King Jr.
Boulevard. The Clinic will offer oral health and blood pressure
screenings, information on better dental care for for adults and
children, and answers on avoiding oral cancer and smoking cessation
at no charge. The event is part of the School of Dentistry's 75th
Anniversary celebration.

The College of Business Administration continues its successful
Global Entrepreneur Master of Business Administration program
(GEMBA) in partnership with Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan.
Since 2004, the cohort program has attracted some of the top
students in Taiwan, including CEOs and high-level government
officials. The program has grown over the years with 15 upcoming
graduates in its third group and 17 students completing the first
section of their classes at UDM.

The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (UDM Law) and the
Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey
(Monterrey Tech), Mexico's leading private law school recently
created The North American Lawyer Multiple Degree Program, more
commonly known as The NAFTA Lawyer Program. It is the only known
joint-degree program, providing students with the educational
background necessary to practice law in both the United States with
a J.D. degree and an L.E.D degree in Mexico.
