Armed Robbery

Date: August 29, 2009

Location: Off Campus / Public sidewalk on Livernois near Florence Street

McNichols Campus– The University of Detroit Mercy Public Safety Department is working with the Detroit Police Department in connection with an armed robbery that occurred off campus at 2:05 A.M. on August 29, 2009.

The victims, 18, 20, 21 and 23 year old male students were standing near Fraternity house at Grove and Fairfield Street’s. The students observed the three suspects approaching them. As the suspects approached the student’s one suspect brandished a silver handgun demanding money and cell phones from students. Suspects took all victims cell phones and ATM/Debit card from 21 year old student. Two suspects fled Eastbound on Grove Street while the third fled northbound on Fairfield Street and from there unknown.

SUSPECT DESCRIPTIONS:

  • Male, black, brown complexion, 5’11” height, heavy set. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt with silver writing and black sweatpants.
  • Male, black, brown complexion, 6’0”height, thin build. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and gray sweatpants, armed with silver automatic handgun.
  • Male, black, no other description
