Strong Arm Unarmed Robbery
Date: June 26, 2009
Location: On Campus / Campus sidewalk near south side of Ford Life Science Building
McNichols Campus– The University of Detroit Mercy Public Safety Department is investigating the report of a strong arm robbery that occurred at 5:00 p.m. on June 26th.
The victim, a 23-year-old student said he was walking near the Ford Life Sciences building and the Powerhouse when two strangers approached him from behind, one of them punching him in the face. One of the suspects grabbed the victim’s laptop computer from under his arm. The suspects fled on foot toward the east pedestrian gate and from there unknown.
The student stated one suspect was a black male 16 - 17 years old, between 5 feet 6 inches - 5 feet 9 inches tall, thin build last seen wearing a white T-shirt and grey shorts. The student was unable to provide a description of the second suspect.
