Safety Alert

Felonious Assault

Date: April 22, 2008

Location: On Campus / Off Campus on Florence & Grove Street

A student was assaulted near the McNichols campus at gunpoint as he was walking back to the Fraternity houses along Fairfield Street.  The perpetrators approached the student one of them produced a handgun and struck him in the head   This perpetrator is described as a black male, 18-25 years of age, 6 ft tall, thin build wearing a white Detroit Pistons jersey.  His accomplices are both described as black males 18-25 years of age, 6 ft tall, thin build both wearing red Detroit Pistons jerseys. Perpetrators fled on foot southbound then from there unknown. 
  • Be aware of your surroundings at all times.
  • Be aware of any suspicious vehicles or persons in the area.   
  • Utilize the campus escort service.
  • On campus report suspicious persons or activities to Public Safety (313) 993-1123
  • Off campus report incidents by dialing 9-1-1
