Safety Alert

Armed Robbery

Date: March 15, 2007

Location: Off Campus / Off Campus on Florence & Dexter Street by the Lot D Turnstile

One student and a visitor were robbed near the McNichols campus at gunpoint as they were walking back from the Fraternity houses along Fairfield Street.  The perpetrators were parked in a silver colored Chevy Aveo along Dexter Street.  The perpetrators exited the vehicle and produced a silver colored handgun and demanded cash from the victims.  Perpetrators fled in their vehicle southbound then from there unknown.  One perpetrator has been arrested in conjunction with this armed robbery and the other perpetrator is still being sought by Law Enforcement.
  • Be aware of your surroundings at all times. 
  • Be aware of any suspicious vehicles or persons in the area.   
  • Utilize the campus escort policy. 
  • On campus report suspicious persons or activities to Public Safety 313-993-1123 
  • Off campus report incidents by dialing 9-1-1
