A student was robbed at gunpoint while taking money out of the Chase ATM on Livernois. The perpetrator fled on foot northbound on Livernois towards Florence where a vehicle awaited him. The perpetrators fled the scene possibly driving a dark 4-door late model Mercury or Ford. No distinguishing suspect information is available at this time. You are asked to call the Department of Public Safety if you observe anyone suspicious and without legitimate business in your area. You are encouraged to take additional precautions:

• Use McNichols Campus ATM in the Student Center Building
• While off campus use a different ATM if it appears someone is just hanging around
• Do not sit in your car and count your money after you complete a withdrawal
• Try not to expose your money when making a purchase
• On campus report suspicious persons or activities to Public Safety (313) 993-1123
• Off campus report incidents by dialing 9-1-1
• Use the buddy system as often as you can or call for a campus escort during the evening hours (313) 993-1234 
• Lock your office and residence hall doors and windows before you leave
• Keep valuables out of sight
