A number of automobiles were broken into over the past two weeks. The area most impacted has been Shiple Drive. Due to these recent thefts, you are asked to call the Department of Public Safety if you observe anyone suspicious and without legitimate business in your area. You are encouraged to take additional precautions with your personal effects:

• Don’t leave valuables unattended
• Don’t prop doors open
• Always lock your vehicle
• Place valuables in your trunk
• Engrave your personal property
• Report suspicious persons or activities to Public Safety
• Use the buddy system as often as you can or call for a campus escort during the evening hours: 313-993-1234
  
• Lock your office and residence hall doors and windows before you leave
• Keep valuables out of sight
• Don’t loan your keys or card access card
• Always lock your locker when using athletic facilities
