University of Detroit Mercy will hold its annual commencement
ceremony for undergraduate and graduate students on Saturday, May
10, 1:30 p.m. at Calihan Hall on the McNichols Campus. More than
750 graduates and their families are expected to attend the event,
as well as "Class of 1958" alumni, who will be honored at the
ceremony. Valedictorian Beth Ann Dalrymple, a mechanical
engineering major, will address the audience.

The University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and Clinic will
host a Community Open House on Saturday, May 31 from 9 a.m. to 1
p.m. on UDM's Corktown Campus, 2700 Martin Luther King Jr.
Boulevard. The Clinic will offer oral health and blood pressure
screenings, information on better dental care for for adults and
children, and answers on avoiding oral cancer and smoking cessation
at no charge. The event is part of the School of Dentistry's 75th
Anniversary celebration.

The National Council on Economic Education and the Michigan Council
on Economic Education have designated the University of Detroit
Mercy at Macomb University Center as a Center for Economic
Education.

The University's College of Health Professions is reaching out to
those who may be interested in the Physician Assistant program. The
informational meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2008 in
the Commerce & Finance Building, Room 209 at 5: 30 p.m.
Students will have the opportunity to meet with faculty and find
out more about the 30 year-old program.

University of Detroit Mercy has joined Wayne County's Department of
Homeland Security Countrywide Alert System to provide students,
faculty and staff an emergency alert system to enhance campus
safety.

Michigan's Chief Nurse Executive Jeanette Klemczak will speak at
UDM on Tuesday, April 8 on Michigan's nursing shortage and its
effect on students and future nurses.

The University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry will dedicate
its new Corktown Campus on Friday April 18, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. The
event will include a building blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The winning team of the Eco-Village Student Design Competition will
be named at an exhibition and reception on Saturday, April 26, 5-7
p.m., at the Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit, 5141 Rosa Parks
Blvd., Detroit.

Ford Motor Company President and CEO Alan Mulally will speak to
University of Detroit Mercy students, faculty, staff and alumni on
Monday, March 31, 2008 at 4:15 p.m. in the Fountain Lounge of the
Student Center on the McNichols Campus.

Over 200 hundred people will attend the College of Engineering and
Science�'s 76th annual Slide Rule Dinner Dance,
April 5, 2008 in the Riverview Room of the Cobo Conference Center
in Detroit. During the event alumni Judge Joseph V. Colaianni and
Dr. Robert Wood will be honored for their contributions to
engineering and science.
