University of Detroit Mercy honored seven distinguished alumni on April 11, 2014, when it hosted the inaugural Spirit of UDM: Alumni Achievement Awards in the Student Fitness Center on the McNichols campus.

University of Detroit Mercy will hold its annual commencement ceremony for undergraduate and graduate students on Saturday, May 10, at 1:30 p.m. in Calihan Hall on the McNichols Campus.
The day before, on Friday, May 9, the UDM School of Dentistry will hold commencement at 9:30 a.m., and the School of Law will hold commencement on 5 p.m. Both ceremonies will also take place at Calihan Hall. In total, the University will graduate more than 1,500 students during the three commencement ceremonies.

UDM Receives $2 Million in Gifts and Grants to Help Students through Scholarships, Co-ops and Fellowship Positions

The School of Architecture and the College of Engineering & Science at University of Detroit Mercy received grants totaling $2 million to support students through scholarships, paid internships (co-op) and fellowship positions. The gifts are from UDM alumnus Warren Loranger '51, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the Mary G. Stange Charitable Trust.

Summer Initiative Gives Aspiring Dentists Chance to Brush Up on Academic and Job Skills - The Michigan Area Health Education Center’s (AHEC) Southeast Regional Center and the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) School of Dentistry have teamed up to offer aspiring dental students the chance to brush up on their academic, job readiness, and networking skills this summer. The Summer Enrichment Program at the University of Detroit Mercy is a free, six-week initiative that will run from Monday, May 19 through Friday, June 27, 2014. Its purpose is to expose students to careers in dentistry, increase the number of disadvantaged students pursuing dental careers, and help students become successful dental school applicants.
Shhh! Neil LaBute's Comedy-drama "This is How it Goes" Wrestles Racism, Bigotry and Even Love Itself

Neil LaBute's sophisticatedly structured drama This Is How It Goes continues the UDM Theatre Company's season. Directed by Greg Grobis, This Is How It Goes runs November 15, 16, 22, 23 at 8 p.m. and November 17 and 24 at 2 p.m. at the Marygrove Theatre (8425 W McNichols Rd., Detroit). LaBute unblinkingly challenges the notions of gender, ethnicity and even love itself in this fast paced 90-minute play which is unpredictable at every turn.
