For the 25th consecutive year, UDM will host its annual Midnight Bicycle Tour of Detroit on Friday, Sept. 19 from 8 p.m. to midnight.

University of Detroit Mercy School of Law will host its 102nd annual Red Mass and Renewal of the Lawyer's Oath of Commitment on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at noon. The Mass will be held at Detroit's historic Saints Peter and Paul Jesuit Church, 629 East Jefferson Avenue, which is immediately adjacent to the Riverfront Campus. Mass will be followed by a complimentary luncheon in the atrium of the School. The Catholic Lawyers Society is co-sponsoring the Mass this year.

For the 14th consecutive year, University of Detroit Mercy is listed in the top tier of Midwest regional universities in the 2015 edition of the U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges” rankings. UDM was also featured this year in the publication’s “A-Plus Schools for B Students” category.
UDM Receives $2 Million in Gifts and Grants to Help Students through Scholarships, Co-ops and Fellowship Positions

The School of Architecture and the College of Engineering & Science at University of Detroit Mercy received grants totaling $2 million to support students through scholarships, paid internships (co-op) and fellowship positions. The gifts are from UDM alumnus Warren Loranger '51, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the Mary G. Stange Charitable Trust.

Summer Initiative Gives Aspiring Dentists Chance to Brush Up on Academic and Job Skills - The Michigan Area Health Education Center’s (AHEC) Southeast Regional Center and the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) School of Dentistry have teamed up to offer aspiring dental students the chance to brush up on their academic, job readiness, and networking skills this summer. The Summer Enrichment Program at the University of Detroit Mercy is a free, six-week initiative that will run from Monday, May 19 through Friday, June 27, 2014. Its purpose is to expose students to careers in dentistry, increase the number of disadvantaged students pursuing dental careers, and help students become successful dental school applicants.

Neil LaBute's sophisticatedly structured drama This Is How It Goes continues the UDM Theatre Company's season. Directed by Greg Grobis, This Is How It Goes runs November 15, 16, 22, 23 at 8 p.m. and November 17 and 24 at 2 p.m. at the Marygrove Theatre (8425 W McNichols Rd., Detroit). LaBute unblinkingly challenges the notions of gender, ethnicity and even love itself in this fast paced 90-minute play which is unpredictable at every turn.
