Livernois Avenue Kicks Off 'Third Thursdays' April 17

Enjoy a spring evening on the Avenue of Fashion when Art Detroit Now’s “Third Thursday” program, which aims to draw patrons to Detroit’s many art galleries and venues, extends to Livernois Avenue on Thursday, April 17.

Attendees will help support Avenue businesses and celebrate local culture.

Participating businesses will be open late for art, shopping, entertainment and special events. Art attractions include Livernois favorites such as Jo’s Gallery and Sherwood Forest Art Gallery, as well as newcomers Detroit Fiber Works, Art in Motion and Love Travels Imports, but all kinds of businesses are involved. Detroit-based folk duo Lac La Belle will perform.

In partnership with local businesses, Third Thursdays on Livernois are managed by University of Detroit Mercy’s Detroit Collaborative Design Center, which will participate with events and exhibits at its Livernois Community Storefront. Future Third Thursdays will be held on May 15, June 19, July 17 and August 21.

For more information, contact Ceara O’Leary of the Detroit Collaborative Design Center at 313-993-1037 or olearycm@udmercy.edu, or visit www.facebook.com/LivernoisCommunityStorefront.
