CLASA presents "Living in a Complex World: Mercy at the UN"
The Carney Latin American Solidarity Archive is hosting Deirdre Mullan, RSM, director of Mercy Global Concern and representative of the Sisters of Mercy at the United Nations in New York. The event will be held on Monday, Oct. 24 at 9 a.m. in Briggs 10 on the McNichols Campus.

A native from Northern Ireland, she will be speaking on "Living in a complex world: Mercy at the UN" and discussing her motivation to help others live a normal, happy life as she has. Giving back to the less fortunate is something her sister taught her, working in Kenya and her uncle, a priest in Peru.
Mullan loves working for the UN, but says, "Sometimes it can be frustrating because of the bureaucracy we have to move at a slow pace". She loves that her line of work is so diverse. She gets to meet many different people from all over the world, she added.
This is a free event and is open to the public. For more information, please contact CLASA Director Dr. Gail Presbey 313-993-1124 or at presbegm@udmercy.edu.
