University Symposium on “The Economy: A Winter of Discontent?”

Four economic experts throughout Michigan will be speaking at University of Detroit Mercy’s 2010 “The Economy: A Winter of Discontent?” symposium on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Macomb University Center, 44575 Garfield Rd. in Clinton Township in Building #1. The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Speakers include:

  • David R. Breuhan, vice president and portfolio manager at Gregory J. Schwartz and Company, Inc. who will discuss “Consequences of Past Policies”.
  • Harry C. Veryser, UDM department of economics professor will talk about, “The Deflation Trap”.
  • Michael Curry, director of communications and Northwood University adjunct professor, will speak on “Men Without Chests: The Roots of Economic Disorder”.
  • Joseph A. Weglarz, UDM department of economics professor will talk about “The Economic Wisdom of the Scholastics.”

This event is sponsored by the University of Detroit Mercy Economics Department, Macomb University Center; UDM Center, and the Michigan Council on Economic Education.
