UDM names three new Board of Trustee members

University of Detroit Mercy Board of Trustees recently elected three new members to the board: The Hon. Denise Langford Morris, Oakland County Circuit Court; Derrick Kuzak, Ford Motor Company; and Terence V. Page, Hardy, Lewis & Page, PC.

Hon. Denise Langford Morris was appointed to the Oakland County Circuit Court in August 1992. She was then elected in 1994 and re-elected in 2000 and 2006. Prior to her appointment, Morris's private practice focused on civil and criminal litigation. She also is a former Oakland County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and a former Assistant Hon. Denise Langford MorrisUnited States Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan. Morris is a member of the Michigan Judges Association and the National Bar Association Judicial Council. 

Morris received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Wayne State University and her J.D. from University of Detroit School of Law. She has mentored many students throughout the years and volunteered her time in the "Ernie Goodman Civil Rights Mock Trial Tournament.”

Derrick KuzakDerrick Kuzak is group vice president, Global Product Development for Ford Motor Company. He has overall responsibility for all aspects of the company's Product Development System and reports directly to Alan Mulally, president and chief executive officer of the company. Kuzak also reports to Mark Fields, executive vice president of Ford.

 In this role, Kuzak leads a team responsible for delivering on the company's promise of delivering more products people want with greater efficiency for Ford around the world. He began the global role in December 2006. Prior to that, Kuzak joined the America’s leadership team in August 2005, when he was named vice president, North America Engineering. In this role, he was responsible for engineering signoff of all North American vehicles and had direct responsibility for key commodities and common platform parts. Kuzak joined Ford in 1978 as research engineer.

He holds both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Detroit, where he also earned a doctorate in Systems Engineering.

He was named UDM Engineering Alumnus of the Year in 2009 from the College of Engineering and Science. “Kuzak was chosen for his exceptional professional contributions to the auto industry, Ford Motor Company and the profession of engineering,” said Leo Hanifin, dean of UDM's College of Engineering & Science, and director of the Michigan Ohio University Transportation Center.

Terrance V. PageTerence V. Page is a partner with Hardy, Lewis & Page, P.C., a professional corporation of attorneys, representing a wide variety of both private and public clients. The 40-year-old firm handles complex trial and appellate litigation in both the State and Federal courts, representing management in an employment-related practice, as well as practicing corporate law, real estate, tax, probate, personal injury, business planning and estate planning.

Page earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting, law degree and Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Detroit. He has been a strong supporter of Titan athletics for many years, and was named to the Titan Sports Hall of Fame in 1986.
