UDM’s “2010 State of the Economy” Symposium at Macomb Center
With the turbulence in America’s economy, University of Detroit Mercy has invited several business experts to discuss the future of business. The “2010 State of the Economy” Symposium will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 from 9 a.m. – noon. at the Macomb University Center. The Center is located at 44575 Garfield Road in Clinton Township.Several speakers will be featured at the symposium including: Joseph A. Weglarz, senior lecturer at UDM with "Opening Comments" David R. Breuhan, vice president and portfolio manager at Gregory J. Schwartz and Company, Inc. on "An American Renaissance" Michael LaFaive, director of the Morey Fiscal Policy Initiative at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy on "The State of the State" Joshua Long, Assistant Professor of Economics at Ivy Tech Community College, Fort Wayne, Indiana on "The Use of the Yield Curve as a Predictor" Nicolai Wenzel, Assistant Professor of Economics at Hillsdale College on "Regulation, Bailout, & Institutions" Harry C. Veryser, Director of UDM Graduate Programs, Department of Economics on “The Road To Recovery."
