UDM Law School Hosts Social Networking Workshop -10/29
National Expert to Speak on “The 6Ps of the Big 3: Using Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn for Job Searching and Business Development”
The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law will host a social networking workshop on Thursday, October 29, 2009, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the atrium of the law school located at 651 E. Jefferson Avenue in downtown Detroit. The event is co-sponsored by the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association Barristers and is open to all attorneys and law students.

Amanda C. Ellis, a national expert on attorney job placement, marketing, and business development will be the event’s keynote speaker. Ellis’ presentation entitled, “The 6Ps of the Big 3: Using Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn for Job Searching and Business Development” will provide an overview of how attorneys and law students can effectively use these three most popular social networking sites.
“The 6Ps” of the presentation are: Purpose; Picture; Profile: Privacy: Professional Use; and Phone Applications. The workshop will include many specific examples of how to use these sites and the various benefits they can provide attendees who are searching for an attorney position or wish to develop and market their legal practice.
The speaker is founder of Amanda Ellis Legal Search and a former practicing bankruptcy attorney and legal recruiter. She was previously with Special Counsel, the largest provider of legal staffing services to corporate legal departments and law firms nationwide, where she was the top producer for direct hire attorney placements. She formed Amanda Ellis Legal Search to implement a focused approach to legal recruiting and attorney placement nationwide, with expertise in relocation to another state or legal market.
