Auditions: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spellling Bee

The UDM Theatre Company and the Marygrove College Music Department announce auditions for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on September 21, 2009. Community auditions will be held from 7:00 - 9:00 pm in Denk Chapman which is on the 1st floor of the Madam Cadillac Building on Marygrove College’s campus.

The UDM Theatre Company and Marygrove College’s Music Department are thrilled to be one of the first universities to produce The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! This H-I-T musical is fresh off the national tour and tells the story of six over-achieving adolescents that are the finalists in their county’s spelling bee. Music and lyrics by William Finn, book by Rachel Sheinkin, conceived by Rebecca Feldman and additional material by Jay Reiss, this adult musical comedy will challenge your spelling skills and have you humming songs all the way H-O-M-E.

Students from University of Detroit Mercy and Marygrove College can audition on Monday, September 21, 2009 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm with community auditions from 7:00 - 9:00 pm in the Denk Chapman which is on the 1st floor of the Madam Cadillac Building on Marygrove College’s campus. We require auditions to have 16-32 bars of music and a 60 second monologue. Call backs will be on Tuesday September 22, 2009.
