UDM College of Business takes top prize at 2009 ACG Cup

Last Saturday, University of Detroit Mercy took first place honors, winning the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Detroit Cup- the MBA Business Case Competition.  The event is an intercollegiate contest among students at business schools throughout Southeastern Michigan. 

The UDM Team, pictured, from left, Brian Powrozek, Jennifer Gallagher and Ann Morgan of the College of Business Administration took home the prized cup in the second year of this prestigious academic event and winning the top prize of $10,000 in scholarship money. Supporting the team were coaches Mary Ann Hazen and Euge Greenstein from UDM’s College of Business Administration. In the competition, our students gained invaluable feedback from judges and expanded their own networks.

ACG is the Detroit Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth, which is a premier organization of corporate growth driven professionals with more than 290 members. ACG was proud to announce their winners for the second annual ACG Detroit Cup in a very tough competition were judges make you think on your feet. The competition consisted of two challenges.

Competing against UDM this year were the Eli Broad School of Business at Michigan State University, Oakland University, the Ross School of Business at University of Michigan, Walsh College and Wayne State University. The ACG Cup was open to all graduate students who officially registered at the participating school through the 2008-2009 academic year.
