The Broadside Press Poet’s Theatre was established to promote literature of African American culture to our community. It has given the students in the Detroit-area, an opportunity to express themselves through their creativity in writing.
Associate Professor of English, Rosemary Weatherson has been working with Broadside Press for the past several years, bringing many students poetry to the campus and beyond. "The Dudley Randall Center for Print Culture is thrilled to be able to host Broadside Press's Poets' Theater, an important outlet for many of our students,” she said. “Part of the Center's mission is to break down boundaries between academic, student, and community writers and offer wonderful opportunities for all types of writers and fans of poetry to come together on our campus," she added.
