UDM Volunteers in “United We Serve”

President Obama has headed up a nationwide project entitled “United We Serve,” with a goal “to build a new foundation for economic growth in America to help other in need with health care, education and clean energy issues. He has asked all Americans to donate their time and talents to others in their own communities.

In conjunction with this project, UDM students, faculty and staff are also been asked to participate in their own “United We Serve” projects in Detroit.

Students can volunteer at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen at 4390 Conner St. in Detroit on October 21, 2009 from 3:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. Students who volunteer may fulfill their service-learning course requirements.

UDM faculty and staff will volunteer their time at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen at 1264 Meldrum St. in Detroit on Friday, Oct. 23, and Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
