UDM School of Law Public Interest Fellowship Auction

The University of Detroit Mercy’s School of Law will be hosting their seventh annual Public Interest Fellowship Auction on Friday, April 3, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. at the law school, 651 E. Jefferson Avenue, in the Atrium.

This year's Auction will fund several summer public interest fellowships. Since 2003, the program has provided more than 40 students with summer stipends that work for a variety of organizations that support the poor and marginalized such as Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office, African Women’s Lawyer’s Association in Accra, Ghana, American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan, Freedom House, Elder Law Center of Neighborhood Legal Services, City of Detroit Human Rights Department, National Wildlife Federation, and Salvation Army’s William Booth Legal Aid Clinic.

With the help of public contributions, the auction will give UDM the opportunity to fund these valuable programs which allows our students at University of Detroit Mercy to call to serve and work for the public good of our community.
