Walk It Off UDM!!!
Not only is walking a great form of exercise, but it has also been proven to prevent two types of diabetes, reduce the risk of breast and colon cancer, alleviate the symptoms of depression, and strengthen your heart.
With that being said, the University of Detroit Mercy is sponsoring a new event to help students and staff take the first step towards better health and fitness. On October 9, 2008 at 1:00 p.m., UDM faculty and students will gather in the International Student Lounge to kick off the 6-week event of healthier living.As part of the event, pedometers will be given out to help track the number of steps each participator has taken. Prizes will be awarded to the most ambitious, over-achievers who reach and exceed their own goals.
