Thomas Jane, the star of HBO's "Hung" seems to have enjoyed his time in Detroit so much that he has signed on to a film project that will bring him back to the city. Jane, who plays divorced dad/high school coach/male prostitute Ray Drecker in the HBO sitcom has worked in Detroit shooting scenes for the show, which is set in Metro Detroit.

A federal lawsuit alleges the city's police department is engaged in an "unconstitutional commercial enterprise" because of the high number of traffic tickets written by police officers. The lawsuit, filed last week in U.S. District Court, stems from a March 10 case in which Dearborn Heights officers allegedly pulled a gun on a homeowner over an alleged traffic violation before illegally entering his home.

Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick owes the City of Detroit more than $800,000 in restitution. Federal investigators say he defrauded donors to his namesake non-profit Civic Fund by using $640,000 for personal expenses, including yoga classes and golf clubs.

Mary Beth Kelly said she would bring the high court her judicial and legal experience, her judicial temperament and her focus on civility. Kelly, 48, has been a Wayne County Circuit Court judge since her appointment in 1999. She was the court’s chief judge for six years. Before joining the bench, Kelly was a commercial litigation partner at Dickinson Wright in Detroit. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Detroit Mercy Law School and graduated from Notre Dame Law School.
