Second Wednesday Presentation: Sacred Space for the Modern Mind
Wednesday, November 10, 2010
McNichols' Campus Library, Room 324, 12:00pm-2:00pm EST
Join us to learn about the integration of sacred space in the modern world. Presented by Fr. Gilbert Sunghera, Assistant Professor, School of Architecture. Light refreshments will be provided.
Prior to the Second Vatican Council, architects began to explore how the modern mind framed a person's encounter with the sacred. This presentation will look at some of the issues that were raised during the 1930's which still influence the design of contemporary catholic worship spaces.
