A THOUSAND MILES TO FREEDOM:

THE WILLIAM AND ELLEN CRAFT STORY

Inspired by the true story of William and Ellen Craft, this Romeo and Juliet inspired romance takes place in the Underground Railroad. This one night only event will be performed in the Student Union Ballroom on the Detroit Mercy McNichols campus.

The evening will include a presentation on Black History from Roy Finkenbine, Ph.D., co-chair of Detroit Mercy’s History Department and director of the Black Abolitionist Archive.

A reception of light refreshments will precede the evening’s events at 6:00 p.m. for community members and alumni to meet and mingle.

This event is not included in our season ticket package and is sponsored by Detroit Mercy Alumni Relations.

This is a non-ticketed event, free and open to the public.
