Larceny From Building

Date: December 10, 2014

Location: Off Campus / Corktown Campus - Third Floor of Clinic Building

Circumstances

The University of Detroit Mercy Public Safety Department is investigating a larceny from building that occurred at the Corktown Campus between 12:45 PM and 1:05 PM on December 10, 2014.  A UDM employee left her work area to assist a fellow employee and upon returning a short time later she discovered that her wallet, which had been sitting atop her desk, had been taken.  A possible perpetrator was seen in the area, however, it has not been determined if he was involved at this time.    

The possible perpetrator is described as a Black Male 40-50 years of age, 5’6” tall, dark complexion wearing a black coat, dark green shirt; green pants, with an unknown type ID card on a red lanyard.

DPS will continue to provide the community with security and safety information through safety notices and updates on the DPS web site.

    Safety Tips

    • Be aware of others in your surrounding area.     
    • Utilize the campus escort policy or travel with others when possible.
    • Make an attempt to conduct business during hours of daylight.
    • Have your keys in hand so you are ready to open the car and house doors immediately
    • Be aware of your surroundings and others around you at all times.
    • Limit the use of devices that distract you while you are walking (Ex. text message, iPods)
