Circumstances

The University of Detroit Mercy Public Safety Department is investigating a report on two suspicious persons on campus.  A student was studying in Quad Commons when the two perpetrators engaged him in conversation, inquiring about valuables in the residence halls as well as valuables in the nearby fraternity houses. The two perpetrators also asked questions about who lived in the fraternity houses and if they are currently occupied. The two perpetrators then left Quad Commons and the student returned to his dorm room.  A short time later the student saw lights shining in his window at which time he looked out and saw the same two perpetrators running from his window. Later in the day the Public Safety Department received information that a fraternity house in the area had been broken into, however, as of this time that information is unconfirmed.

DPS will continue to provide the community with security and safety information through safety notices and updates on the DPS website.
