Our Accomplishments & Future Goals

Our Accomplishments

  • The Association contributed almost $500,000 for the renovation of Lansing Reilly Hall, the Jesuit Residence at UDM.
  • The Association has awarded grants totaling over $10,000 for faculty to develop courses and course modification on Catholicism and Catholic living.
  • The Association has contributed $5,000 to develop a survey of UDM students’ religious backgrounds and practices in support of University Ministry.
  • As a part of the broadly expanded University Ministry, the Association sponsored the appointment and development of associate and student ministers working and assisting in the dormitories. In addition, College Ministers have been appointed in several of the colleges.
  • The Association contributed almost $20,000 to revitalize Mass of the Holy Spirit. This Mass celebrates the opening of classes in September. Fr. Gary Wright’s efforts in this revitalized celebration have increased attendance by more than ten fold.
  • The Association contributed over $10,000 to send Business School Faculty to an annual conference of the faculty of Jesuit Business Schools. Over the past three years UDM has been able to send more faculty than any other Jesuit school.
  • The Association awards the Jesuit 100 Magis Award to a student and Faculty or Staff member “ whose day-to-day contribution to the University and the community at large is considered “More” (Magis) than expected.”
  • The Association also awards the Jesuit 100 Catholic Education Spirit Award to those have served the association in exceptional ways
  • We are now in the process of assisting the University in its efforts to expand all varieties of Catholic religious art and symbols on campus.

Our Future Goals

  • Invite and bring Catholic speakers to the campus.
  • Assist in inviting new Jesuits to fill faculty needs.
  • Identify potential partners for the many Jesuit efforts at the University.
  • We look forward to working closely with President Fay and the new President of the University. We salute the most recent progress made to increase enrollment in traditional student ranks at UDM.
