Scholars Luncheon celebrates the gift of education

Scholars lunch

On May 14, University of Detroit Mercy held a Scholars Luncheon, inviting all scholarship donors and recipients to come together and celebrate a year of academic achievement.

“Although the original intent of the event was to allow our scholarship donors the opportunity to meet with their scholarship recipients, we have found that there is a tremendous added benefit,” explains Ann Fisher, executive director of Annual Giving. “Our students profit from the experience as well. They are learning first-hand from our donors the joy that comes from giving to help others. We are   educating our future alumni about philanthropy.”

Nearly 80 donors and students came together to celebrate the gift of education. To learn more about how you can support scholarships at University of Detroit Mercy, please contact Anita-Joyce Barnes, assistant director of Annual Giving, at 313-578-0329 or barnesaj@udmercy.edu.
