175th Anniversary of the founding of the Sisters of Mercy by Blessed Catherine McAuley in Dublin, Ireland

Jesuit Jubilee that commemorates the 450th anniversary of the death of Ignatius Loyola and the 500th anniversary of the births of Peter Faber and Francis Xavier, founders of the Society of Jesus.

In celebration of the Jesuit Jubilee Year 2006, The Very Reverend Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, S.J., Superior General of the Society of Jesus, visited the University of Detroit Mercy October 6-7. Visiting from the Jesuit Curia in Rome, Italy, Father General Kolvenbach's schedule in Detroit was as follows:
